Sorry for being away so long life happened a lot. So I’ve been working more on the game after getting friends and family to test and fixing some bugs as well. Some things have changed and been added:

  • Two new game modes: classic and pro.
  • Classic mode is for those looking for a relaxing experience or to pass time with low stress.
  • Pro mode is for those looking for a bit of a challenge and would like to strategize, beat a time limit or escape enemies.
  • The exit of the puzzle has changed and you’ll now see a bright light with sparkles.
  • The levels menu also unlocks based on the game mode you’re playing and has different menus for each now.
  • In the start menu you can now toggle maps on/off. This game was made to be played without maps but it’s included for those who might play better with it.
  • There are two options for music now. One is more relaxing to suit casual and the other more intense to suit pro.
  • There is also a digital as well as analog clock
  • Customization options have been added to make the game more personal to suit your needs.
  • Thanks to customization options you can play pro with calm music or vice versa.
  • Joystick is removed and now works as touchscreen and keyboard. Use a cross motion to mimic arrow keys.
  • The “Esc” key can now be used to bring up the pause menu.
  • Graphics overhaul in-game
  • A window for announcements in the right corner
  • Web build does not include intro video for now but downloadable versions do. You can find them on itch.io via my profile
  • Pro Mode ghost run has been removed for some tweaks
  • UI still needs some fixes as well

What’s new in today’s update:

  • Username system on the start menu
  • Game saves username and references it in other instances
  • Welcome messages on each new level (this might change not 100% into it)
  • Looped music

What to expect from next update:

  • Sound effects
  • Audio Manager
  • Player ranking system

I’m continuously working on the game for it to fully resemble what I have planned for it and wanted to give a layout of the features I have planned which will come in different updates.

What to expect from the completed game:

  • Music on a loop no restart on the next level (thanks @David Cabrera for the rating and review 😊)
  • Audio manager for sound effects and music 🔈🔇
  • Welcome text with name and level on entry into a new level 🛗
  • Username System that stores your time spent in each level 💻
  • Player rankings to see how much time others spent on a level and possibly beat the highest score 🏆
  • A reward system/ Shop for different player skins 🪙
  • Enemies in higher levels that chase you while you try to get out 👻
  • Timed levels where you have to exit before it’s too late ⌛
  • And hey maybe a combination of the last two cause puzzles are best solved under stress 😨
  • And many many many more levels… 😁

This is coming a bit late but:

I’ve been working on this game for a week, but my journey into programming started just a few months ago. At first, I hesitated to make a game because I always felt there was more to learn. Eventually, I decided to dive in and embrace the process of trial, error, and feedback.

I’ve spent countless hours on YouTube, learning coding from various sources (which I’d be happy to share if anyone’s interested). I’ve also relied on AI to help debug after some gruelling 12-hour problem-solving sessions and found incredible insights on Unity discussion boards.

I’m incredibly grateful to God for how everything came together. While there’s still much to refine, I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished and excited about adding new systems to improve the game.

I hope you enjoy the levels and the challenges they bring! Stay tuned for updates in future posts, where I’ll share details about upcoming features designed to boost excitement and competition.

Lastly, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Drop your suggestions in the discussion boards—if they align with my vision, I’ll do my best to learn and incorporate them into the game.

Thank you for joining me on this journey!
